About Us

Valmac Industries, Inc. provides flat grinding, lapping and polishing services on customer supplied parts. With our broad range of capabilities, we can process parts to achieve the required thickness, flatness, parallel and surface roughness of flat surfaces of parts to improve or complete them to final specifications.

About Us

Valmac Industries, Inc. was established in 1985 in Centerville, OH with one Speedfam single-sided lapping machine. Since then, we have grown to provide many more services beyond flat lapping in our current 50,400 sq ft Vandalia, OH facility. Valmac Industries, Inc. is ISO 9001 Certified.

Services and Capabilities

Valmac’s primary services offered are Grinding, Lapping and Polishing of Flat Surfaces of customer parts. By processing the flat surfaces of customer parts, we can improve or complete the part thickness, flatness, parallelism and surface roughness. Specific processes we use to process part flat surfaces are:

Types of Parts Processed

With our Flat Grinding, Lapping and Polishing services we can process most magnetic and non-magnetic materials. This includes hardened and unhardened steels, stainless steels, powdered metals, various alloys, copper, brass, aluminum, plastics, ceramics and carbides. Final thickness, flatness, parallelism and surface roughness on small and production lot sizes can be accurately and efficiently processed by our experienced staff and our diverse processing options.

Some examples of parts processed include shims, spacers, plates and gears ground in production quantities for the automotive and other industries, precision tolerance parts for various types of pumps, laser or water jet cut parts of odd shapes, parts made of special alloys and various parts for applications requiring an improved surface finish for cosmetics and/or flatness for sealing. This is just a small example of parts we can process for final thickness, flatness, parallelism and surface roughness needs.

In Cryogenic Deflashing we process a large variety of plastic and rubber parts to reduce or remove mold parting line flash on parts including O-rings and a host of other plastic injected and rubber molded parts. In some cases, we will cryogenically deburr plastics parts that have been ground by us or ground or machined by others.
